Denture can cause some pain and some discomfort, and these discomforts can be solved. Here are a few examples for denture users:

1. Dentures are not well fixed and easy to fall off

  • Mainly occurs in full-mouth dentures and some active dentures

  • Biting food, talking, coughing, licking or falling off when the tongue touches

  • Denture adhesives may be considered for people who have too shallow gums and have not worn dentures for too long.

  • Find a doctor to adjust the occlusion problem

2. Increased saliva after wearing dentures, nausea, reduced taste

  • The mouth has not yet adapted, and it needs to be adapted to ease

3. Dentures are difficult to wear

  • The way to wear it must be correct, practice the right way, do not rude

  • If the clasp is too tight, you can ask the doctor or dental technician to make adjustments.

4. The pronunciation is not accurate after wearing the denture

  • Temporary dysphonia can occur when the activity of the tongue is restricted

  • Need to practice more

  • If the base is too thick, you can find a dental technician to fix again.

5. Reduced bite ability

  • You should seek for medical advice when you have a bad chewing experience.

6. Food stuck between dentures and real teeth

  • Need to review and make changes

7. Base or clasp is broken

  • Repair in time, do not use super glue to repair it yourself to avoid the damage of other teeth and the risk of accidental swallowing

8. Oral keratitis and denture stomatitis

  • Dentures must be cleaned daily

  • If it is because of the denture damage the gums, you must repair the dentures, and then wear the dentures after the gums are ready.
